I have a street rod that uses the frame of a 1980 Cutlass LS which I believe is called a GM G Body. The car is a 1940 Ford two door coach. It has the rear springs form the original ’80 Cutlass in it and they are too weak so I use air shocks to supplement the springs and stop the bottoming of the suspension.
The ride height is good without air in the shocks but the ride is a bit soft. I would like to replace the springs with ones that would not only allow me to get rid of the air shocks but to also give me a bit stiffer ride and strong enough to hold the extra weight of passenger and stuff in the trunk. And also, if possible, raise the rear maybe about an inch. – John from Canada
