Hi Mike,
I’m in the market for a F41 Spring for my 1966 Corvette with F41 suspension.
Currently the car has the original GM spring with the curled and notched ends.
My concern is that it has obvious pitting under the paint and I’m afraid to re- use it.I have narrowed my choices down to two:
Your seven leaf spring (F41 equivalent) and the one from Corvettes Finest who claims to have the exact engineering and configuration, additionally it has the correct liners and cup retainers installed and painted to supposedly the correct color.
My question is this:
What should I do?
Why should I choose yours over theirs?
I will have to disassemble yours, grit blast each leaf, paint and go through the trouble of staking the cups, whereas theirs is ready to go!
Granted theirs is more expensive.
I mean no disrespect at all, I just want to do make the best decision bearing in mind that ride height, handling integrity and NCRS scrutiny are all important.
Love to hear from you !
Thank you,
Ralph
Ralph,
The answer is easy….buy from us. What else would you want me to say.
I do not know what spring Corvettes Finests sells or where they get them from. They are not a customer of ours.
Our spring comes unpainted because we have found over the years that 50% of the customers did not like that. So we do not paint them and 50% of our customers do not like that.
The spring is shot peened and requires little work to get it ready for paint.
I know of no problem with the liner we use.
The clips on the spring are for shipping purposes only and can be removed.
Our spring is liked very, very much by NCRS.
So now the choice is yours.
Mike
