Hi Mike,
I subframed a ’51 Chevy truck with a ’78 Camaro clip,
I may have went lower than I should, when I drive it I get a lot of scrapes on the rear of the front fenders on uneven pavement. As far as I know the coils are the ones that came on the car, after thirty years they may have lost some of their strength.
Here’s what I need to know, will fresh factory coils or longer coils gain me some height, I could use about 1 1/2″ to 2” to make a good driver, if longer coils would get me up some what else would this effect in the front end ?
Thanks,
Berry
Berry,
The only way to find out is to replace the springs with stock 78 Camaro springs and see how she sits.
If the springs were just plain worn out, she should be OK. If it still needs to go a bit higher we now have a benchmark to go by.
We will swap the springs to get the right height.
