Q -I ordered a set of coil springs so my 1969 GTO would sit 1 Inch lower. But when I put them on the car sat higher than it did with the old springs. How come?
Don – New York
A – Don, Remember when you placed the order with Gary he said asked how you wanted the car to sit as compared to stock height?
We have to go from factory stock height for a couple of good reasons.
Over time all springs settle. It is a safe bet that your ’69 does not sit at stock height after all these years. Because of this natural settling of the springs we have no idea how your car sits with the old springs.
Chances are your GTO had really sagged and now the new springs has it sitting 1 Inch lower than stock height.
For those customers who are unsure how their car sits as compared to factory ride height, we have many factory ride height specs and we will be glad to provide them the factory ride height specs for their cars so they can measure. – Mike
