Hudson Leaf & Coil Springs
The name Hudson came from Joseph L Hudson, a Detroit entrepreneur and founder of Hudson’s Department Store, who provided the lion’s share of capital needed to start the business. Founded in 1909, the company aimed to produce an automobile for less that $1,000. Hudson were the first to use dual-brakes, warning lights in the dashboard for oil pressure, and the first balanced crankshaft.
